Curriculum

Pre-school

Saturday Morning, 10.00 to 10.40 or 12.00 to 12.40
Ages 2 ½ to 3 ½ years
This class incorporates Greek music, movement and dancing and is an excellent introduction to Greek school.

Nursery

Saturday Morning, 9.30 to1.00
Ages 4 to 5 years
This class incorporates activities to improve children's fine motor skills, including Greek songs, poems, stories and conversation.

Reception

Saturday Morning, 9.30 to 1.00
Ages 5 to 6 years
This class works on 6 topics;
1. Myself (Ο εαυτόs μου)
2. Family (Οικογένεια μου)
3. Clothing (Τα ρούχα μου)
4. Home (Το σπίτι μου)
5. Surrounding world, including topics on animals, nature, colours (Ο κόσμοs γύρω μου)
6. Seasons (Ο καιρόs)
In each topic children learn basic vocabulary and language structures.
 

Years 1 to 6

Saturday Morning, 9.30 to 1.00 &
Wednesday Evening 6.00 to 7.30
Ages 6 to 12 years
We follow the syllabus recommended by the Greek and Cypriot embassies including;
Formal reading and writing of Greek language
Greek music and dance
Knowledge of homeland, including elements of history, religion, geography and Greek culture

GCSE

Saturday Morning, 9.30 to 1.00 &
Wednesday Evening 6.00 to 7.30
Ages 13 to 14 years (two year course)
The Edexcel GCSE syllabus is followed. At the end of the course the children are expected to take their GCSE exams.

AS Level and A Level

Saturday Morning, 9.30 to 1.00 &
Wednesday Evening 6.00 to 7.30
15 to 17 years (two to three year course)
AS Level is a Greek language course; A Level comprises Greek language and literature. Again all children are expected to take their exams at the end of the course.
